If someone were to ask you which planets in our solar system contain rings, presumably you would immediately think of the famous rings of Saturn. In fact, the other three gas giants: Jupiter; Uranus; and Neptune, all possess ring systems of their own, despite being thin and dark. Over the last half-century, another planet has developed a ring, and it is purely man-made. The image below shows the extent of all the nuts, bolts, solar cells, abandoned satellites, nuclear reactor cores, spent rocket stages, solid fuel fragments, and jettisoned spacecraft parts, that still orbit Earth.
